The month of March is ‘Women’s History Month’ and the start of the month celebrated ‘International Women’s Day’. A time dedicated to the brave women that have come before us who have broken down barriers, allowing us to be as free as we are today, and the women who are continuing to do so. This month we encourage you to think of the sacrifices that these incredible women have made and are still making. Be brave and make bold choices - just like them.

In the 1960’s, women began to question traditional sexual roles - and so the sexual revolution began. The main concept being that, just like men, women enjoyed sex and had sexual needs. The pill was created and women were allowed to separate sex from procreation. They started to fight against the idea that women should not have sex before marriage and the focus shifted to celebrating single life and sexual exploration. Women being confident in their sexuality and not being afraid to show it; an idea that we fully support and promote with our lingerie. Female sexuality is no longer a taboo subject and we openly talk with likeminded women about the lifestyle and products we enjoy.

Here at Something Wicked, we believe in the movement against fast disposable fashion and the suffering and exploitation garment workers go through while producing the clothes we wear every day. A large majority of these workers are unfortunately women – but we can all help by purchasing from brands that manufacture mindfully! Empowering women isn’t just a final outcome at Something Wicked. We ensure that all the women behind the scenes involved in manufacturing and production experience the same feeling of empowerment and equality. All our lingerie is manufactured in-house, from start to finish, by our team of amazingly talented seamstresses. We continue to build our strong, female dominant, UK based workforce. With us, your lingerie can be Wicked, and your conscience can be clear.

Something Wicked is run by women, made by women, for the empowerment of women. Our lingerie collections encourage women to express themselves, explore their every desire and exude confidence in everything they do; freely and without restriction or judgement. For the entire month of March every order will receive free shipping and a copy of ‘Feminists don’t wear pink and other lies’, a collection of writing from women all over the world on what feminism means to them. The book supports ‘Girl Up’, an initiative hosted by the United Nations Foundation that sees women defending and fighting for gender equality.
